– PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The activities related to building and infrastructure processes are associated with a series of coordination and insufficient information problems, which besides generating delays and uncertainty in its development also can produce economical, legal, and social conflicts for the companies involved.
Over the last few years, the engineering, architecture and construction industry has been involved in a great paradigm shift, largely due to the development of higher complexity projects for an accelerated and demanding market. In view of this need, the BIM methodology (Building Information Modeling) arises, which proposes the development of a digital model that collects all the project specialties in order to anticipate potential problems, improve the decision-making and optimize the building life cycle.
To meet all these new requirements, the course aims to provide the proper knowledge to introduce the student in the use of the main modeling, reviewing and BIM projects management tools, largely focused to its application in building projects. This, by using the platforms provided by Revit software.
Professionals, Technicians or students of construction area (fourth- year grade and above).
The methodology of the course is based on a participative active approach, providing the student a key role since it is considered as the line of action, who builds its own learning guided by the teacher.
The course, that is essentially practical, is conducted through the method of real case project by the representation of a design in three-dimensional view, and for this reason, the activities are held in the computer laboratory.
